Blood Components
  • Plasma is the liquid which floats through the body. It is used primarily for burn and massively transfused patients.

  • Cryo-precipitate is a small portion of the plasma. It is used in open heart and neuro surgeries.

  • Platelets help blood clot. They are used for patients with leukemia, cancer and during open heart surgery.

  • Red Blood Cells carry oxygen from the lungs throughout the body and are given to patients with severe anemia.

  • Whole Blood replaces massive blood loss due to surgery or injury.
